The Old ISM

You’re only living
Whatever you’re writing in your lyric
As you let ’em off
Hope it paints the picture
That you want
No matter the distance
No matter the cost
It is persistence
To get more than you bought
More than the business
More often than not
We’re caught in the ‘ism’
Coffins of conditioning
I could without the prison
Control switches
Take a hold of religion
Golden are women
Do I really need to rectify racism?
Blacks who forgot about the Natives?
Apologize for collective placism?
Demanding the culture shift
For some reparation payment
Instigator becomes the victim
When we all need a raise bitch
I won’t argue today’s pitch
Sins of my fathers
So pardon the hard earned
Farther than your martyr’s wits
Just to find some placement
